Benjamin has decided that he needs to be totally covered with a blanket
now when he's going to sleep from his neck down to his toes, and if he wakes up and his feet are hanging out he gets upset... THAT IS SO ME! Too funny! Marc totally loves being under the covers too, but he sleeps curled up on his side... Ben still mostly sleeps flat on his back like me. He just woke up when I was writing this and was yelling, "Mama, come here please... Mama, help fix this please!" (He's very polite, I hope it stays that way.) I went in there and he said, "Covers please, mommy fix covers." It made me giggle :) It's so funny what kids can get from their parents, the good-the bad-and the silly!!!
And speaking of copying our parents, Ben is into major imitation. Today in the commissary (on
base grocery store) check out line I turned around from unloading our food onto the conveyer belt and Benjamin got my attention by saying, “Mama, hold this please”. Aside from the fact that I’m amazed at his conversation skills at 21 months… I was equally amazed to see that he was handing me my wallet that he had opened, located the correct credit card (out of 3), pulled it out and refastened the wallet. After I took it, he said “My do it” and made the motion of swiping the card in the card reader by the cash register. I know he watches what I do, but I guess I didn’t realize how much his little mind soaks it all in like a sponge and can repeat the sequences of my actions with such precision!!! I let him swipe it and he was so proud!
The cashier and baggers were cracking up. Their enthusiasm and
applause just served to egg on the little performer who decided that he should get the receipt and direct the loading of the bags into our minivan. I’ll have to tell his Daddy, he’ll wish he had been there to see it. He’ll also be happy to know he’s learning some useful skills from me, as opposed to just mimicking me shaving my legs! After that episode, he made sure to include him in his morning shaving routine all the while talking about how cool it is that "boys shave their faces"!And lastly, here's my little safety superstar sporting 3 different flotation devices while splashing
around on a raft with his best buddies during pool time! We are so thankful to have a pool for these long summer months. I don't think a day has gone by that we haven't gone in for a dip. We're going to miss this activity when the cooler months come, although we're looking forward to being able to spend more time on our trampoline and jungle gym when they aren't so blasted hot!

He is soooo cute. I just want to eat him!!!
The pool party looks like soooo much fun. I love all the stories. We want a copy of the blogs to use as a scrap book of all these wonderful memories.
