Our last few weeks in North Carolina

We're finally connected here in Germany! At least for now. Our billeting room just got Internet but once we get a house I hear it can take a very long time, we're talking months and months, to get Internet access there. We'll see. But before I get to all our cool moving and first weeks in Germany photos, I want to catch up with my last few stateside posts. Got to keep it in order for our "book". So, here we go with... "Our last few weeks in North Carolina":
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our time here with Grandma and Grandpa in beautiful North Carolina is quickly coming to an end. We've not only survived our transition time, we've thrived... thanks to lots of love from Grandma and Grandpa. Here are the last of our adventures before leaving for Germany as tomorrow will be a big packing day and then we continue on our journey.

Gardening with Grandpa was a favorite activity. On this day they planted some tomato plants. Ben was very interested in the process this year and was extra excited to be able to do it all by himself. We had a garden every spring in Oklahoma, but weren't able to do one this year because of the move. So it was extra special getting to take part in Grandpa and Grandma's.
Car wash time. Ben was so serious about it, making sure to be just as detailed as Grandpa was with his truck. And what a cool trike he has at Grandma and Grandpa's. It has extra big wheels and a bell.
Here's the baby turtle we rescued from a sidewalk far away from the river and will release in Grandma's and Grandpa's lake before we leave.
So fun to have the chance to investigate the turtle up close!
Moving our fishing out onto the lake by way of Grandpa's canoe... which included lots of exploring.
Filling up the bird feeder, and then staking out the area to watch for Sneaky the squirrel.
I love this picture because it was totally unannounced and a true representation of my little guy hanging out with and loving on his Grandpa.

We will really miss Grandma and Grandpa, we had so much fun at their home! But we're really looking forward to being back together with Marc. He was able to visit us twice during his training, but we're all anxious to be back together as a family again full time. While making the best of our separation... we exchanged a few reminders of our affection which included cookies for him and flowers for me. Ahhhhhhhh, so sweet!
