Hi-ya!

Benjamin has really enjoyed his pre-karate tech class this year. He goes twice a week for 30 minutes with a great group of little American buddies (it's fun to have some playtime in English too :)). His instructors Master Jay and Master Jorge are great with the children, teaching all the karate skills along with self discipline...while still making it fun. Here's a little photographic run down of his class!

They start up with warm up stretches and calisthenics... here are some sit ups.
And some push ups.
I think this is horse stance. I always hear Benjamin say "HORSE STANCE, SIR!"
Warming up with all their punches and blocks.
And then they do some obstacle course style activities, like jump the logs.
Followed by real punches, blocks...
and kicks!
Some close ups!
Great kicks!
And finally some one on one. Here Benjamin is bowing to his teacher and then to his opponent, his best buddy Jack!
The goal of this game is to get your opponents strap hanging from the back of his belt.
This time Benjamin won! I like it that sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't... both are important lessons!
