Bullet form because I have too much loving and playing to do put it all in paragraphs!!!!
-had Robin witness to the Joker during pretend play with daddy (mommy's so glad her constant reminders and lessons are working :))
-loves to dress himself... tries to match but sometimes it's hard... sometimes pairs black with navy blue! :) and has these favorite bright lime green socks he loves to wear (so cute)!
-still really excited about his pj's
-mario kart master
-first intentional kiss of his own idea... with Maeve Chmielewski during their pretend wedding (their idea)
-wants to talk a lot about who and when he'll get married, must be all the love in the air surrounding Valentines Day and two crazy about each other parents :)
-big big big into drawing and writing
-loves to do experiments
-so excited about snow and snow activities
-German is AWESOME, full out conversational, and sort of slang for our area... does some SERIOUS translation for mommy, I'm floored! And his pronuciation is unbelievable. Sometimes, I even have to remind him that I don't know as much as he does and I need him to tell me what he's saying in English :)
-still so dear and loving and defensive and protective of his family
-loves all things funny, loves to laugh and make others laugh (of course poop, farting and burping are way up there on the funny scale)
-still hears everything, doesn't miss a thing... keeps me honest and mindful of "if you don't have anything nice to say..." :)
-asks really good and sometimes hard questions, all about heaven, hell, where babies come from, why people kiss, privacy, people who are bald or have strange piercings or obvious handicaps... all the good ones :)
- We're having so much fun with our so-cool-to-learn-geography-in-Europe lessons! Love love love these adorable questions:
"Grandma, do they have lots of hamsters there?"
"Where honey?"
"In Hamsterdam?"
and
"Do they dress up like turkeys in Turkey? Is that why they call it that?"
-so good with his brother, such a big help to mommy and totally his best friend
-gets tackled on a regular basis by his brother :)
-into popcicles, brownies, lots of green veggies, scooby doo
-in a lot of great activities and doing awesome learning time with mommy that always ends in more play time together
-great pretend play scenarios... lately we've been living in a space ship on important missions as an astronaut family!
-Such a love! Still so affectionate... even as his little-boy-ness continues to blossom in all things rough and tough.
-Got into the big kids tough team at kindergarten... a catch 22 for sure, but a great experience nonetheless leading to lots of great lessons in how Jesus wants us to treat others, regardless of how we were treated and already working on "not" going along with the group when they are wrong... I am so blessed that we have open lines of communication.
-Can't believe how tall and lean he's becomming!
-So many unschool things to teach him, so little time... soaking up the opportunities and what ever extra loving we can get in during the day and night.
-Often times our most special talks come at night time, I'm so glad we do bed time the way we do... it's such a special family time each day.
-So excited about karate, soccer, tournen (German gymnastics) and swimming! I can't believe how well he's doing at all of them... it's such a treat to get to witness all the progress up close. I love the daily witness that staying at home has given me!
My favorite quotes or often heard phrases:
"Actually..." (With great emotion and emphasis :))
"You forgive me? Cause I forgive you." (ADORABLE)
"sure I am mom" (in reply to... "Benjamin, I hope you are... being nice/using soap/listening to mommy")
"I wish I was..." (ending in everything from "Liam" when he's getting extra baby lovin to "that truck driver" depending on what we're doing or seeing!)
"Mom, look at Liam! Look at what he can do!" (Such a sweet and proud big brother.)
"Mom, look at what I can do!" (A big words of affirmation kind of kid :))
"Did you see that mom?" (Look what I can do!!!)
"Mama, Ich bin hungrig!"(He's GROWING!)
Oh there is soooooo much more, but I'm spending more time loving and less time computing because there is NEVER enough time for loving!!!
ONTO PICS...
Such a dear smile... still not 100% at matching the smile with eyes on camera :)
BIG month for Ben! He got his very own puppy as a Valentines Day gift from his mommy and daddy!!! Here he is posing with Max and Aunt Diane (who's living with us for a year - we're so blessed)!
There's nothing like a new best buddy to join in on all your adventures!
I can not STAND how dear this little guy is! He wants to make sure Chloe still gets lots of love... with the new puppy around and all.
So excited about his newest achievement!
We LOVE our special learning and play time together! He's so creative! Here are our playdough animal creations... made after discussing sculptures and looking at photographs of some. In particular we tried to copy "The Blue Hippo" sculpture from our Core Knowledge pre-school reader.
Our orange moose, rainbow giraffe and blue hippo up close.
A portrait of his family... with the names written underneath. He drew Grandma in blue on the left and then he and Grandpa holding hands in green on the right. So sweet! Almost makes up for the fact that mommy is not pictured! :)
So much snow fun lately! Here is an actual igloo/snow fort our really cool 12 yr old neighbor made!

He is still so dear with his little brother... although the older Liam gets, the rougher they both get! We have had a few "don't hit your brother even if he's hitting you" talks. Seriously though, 99% of the time they are GREAT together. Occassionally we need to remind B not to "try out" things on his brother or to tease him and we need to remind L that he doesn't NEED everything his brother has :)
Such a big helper and a super playmate for his little brother!
We have so much fun on family fun nights (every day together is fun of course, but we make an extra effort to cut out all outside distractions and go the extra mile with organized fun once a week)... and we're developing all kinds of fabulous new skills!
Always looking for a new challenge... now with two!

Loves a good pair of jammies! Totally one of his biggest joys at 4 years old. They have to be cotton, comfy, footless and the right design... soccer, dr. seuss, super heros and curious george are his current favorites. Asks to put them back on as soon as he gets home from Kindergarten every day!
Wanted another pic in his jammies... on this up to early morning, as you can infer from his eyes :)
Seriously loves his jammies! And balancing on one leg lately!

This little dude is just THE BEST!
Along with his little brother, it's no wonder I've already filled up one blog!
Love love love my boys!!!
