Our second annual base pool trout derby turned out to be a much bigger success then last years. We caught all 4 of our allowed limit and had so much fun doing so. Ben already has a great spider man fishing pole he and daddy bought last season. He did a great job reeling it in. He stood on the side of the pool with his bait in the water saying, "here fishy fishy, come get this food for you". He was absolutely giddy when we began reeling in our first and started jumping up and down and yelling, "ahhhh, a shark, we caught a shark, watch out, he will bite 'cha!" He was more then anxious to touch it and hold it. He loved it when daddy showed him how to use the fishing pliers to pull out the hook and the hose to rinse everything off. Very cool! Now let's see what culinary masterpiece we can whip up with this very nice looking trout.
