We had an incredibly fun Knights of the Round Table 4th Birthday Party for Benjamin at our home this year! He was excited to invite all his new German friends from kindergarten. I had come up with the idea when we moved here and I saw how much he was getting into knights and castles and such. So I did some brainstorming and got an offer from GMO and GPO that was too good to pass up! Mommy and Daddy were the hosts and Grandma and Grandpa did an absolutely AMAZING job putting together the party favors and decorations. They sent us an awesome package in the mail that was basically a birthday party in a box, complete with everything we needed to host our Knights of the Round Table Birthday Bash! Including this unbelievable chair cover for the birthday boy's seat!

The party started with Benjamin knighting each of his arriving guests and then giving them their knight tunic to wear. Next it was face painting, I painted dragons on their cheeks.

Once everyone was there, we began our Knight challenges, there were 3 total. The first was an obstacle course with a dragon they had to "slay" with a wooden sword at the end. (It was a stuffed pillow case hanging from Ben's gymnastic bar.) Here's his friend Jack starting out on the bouncy castle.

And Lukas going over the climbing dome.

Benjamin was so excited to lead the charge!

Then everyone came inside and snacked on fruit while we played "Pin the Tail on the Dragon".

Marc was the best Dad, he wore a knight costume too, ran the games while I set up the next activity... and was a great translator for our German friends.

Everyone lined up ready for the last challenge, a treasure hunt for my missing gold coins.

When they returned them to my treasure chest, they were given a reward!

Eat your heart out Martha Stewart! My big boy's favorite dessert, brownies, with a very difficult dragon design on top!!!

Bringing out his "cake" and singing "Happy Birthday".
This year, Benjamin really took the "make a wish" part seriously..jpg)
Very seriously :) So dear!
Mommy offers some encouragement :) (He still misses our sweet Cooper Harvey that passed away in September, and told us later on that he made a wish about him, breaks my heart!).jpg)
Blowing out the candles!

All at once, another new development :)

He was so excited and felt so special!

No description necessary for this picture actually... his expression says it all.

Then we opened gifts followed by lots of fun free play up in Ben's huge combo bed/play room. It was a great party. At the end, each guest went home with their personalized knight tunic (made by Grandma), a wooden sword (made by Grandpa) and a goodie bag with candy, gold treasure coins and a little craft project.
Happy 4th Birthday Sir Benjamin the Brave!!!
