Ben and the three-bump B!

Dear Ben,
You surprised us with a new mini milestone... you can write your name now, all by yourself!

(I have worked on it with you a little, but in a very casual manner. As how I try to teach you everything... I introduce it in a fun way when I think you're ready, work on it only when you're interested and never push or punish you during the process. You are much to young to be sitting down doing lots of table work. But you've shown so much interest in reading and writing lately, and want to join in any time I'm writing anything. I didn't realize how much you were picking up until you showed me this! You were so proud, and so was I! Just precious! :) Of course... I think you had some extra motivation, because you also wrote it on a piece of paper too and afterwards said to me, "now can I get a transformer?" What? I asked you what you meant by that and you said that you had a friend at preschool that told you that once he learns to write his name he'll get a transformer! Yeah, I'm a softy... you got one :))

I especially like the three-bump B and the tick mark on top of the n, because you knew there was a little something that should stick up somewhere on top!

I just love each adventure with you!
love,
Mommy
