We had a fantastic 1st birthday bash for our littlest man at our home! 4 dear family friends came over to celebrate our big one year old with music, games, cake and ice cream, and gifts! We had a Knight Liam theme and decorated with lots of "Happy 1st Birthday" decorations too!
I pulled out the kindermusik instruments, scarves and balls and led the kids in a few musical activities. Liam really likes to make music!
Almost as much as he likes playing with scarves!
He just loves to hide under them...
"Here I am mom!" She's so silly, she has the hardest time finding me when I'm right in front of her :)
Then we played the "Who can empty their tissue box first" game, one of Liam's favs!
Rhys Sheer did an admirable job :)
And Liam Kramer was just amazed we were encouraging him to do it... so was his dad :)
Our commissary makes the most delicious cakes, I love to make things for my children, but I do not get all hung up on mommy guilt over always needing to have everything homemade. I did do the icing writing :)
Daddy lights the candles.
Everyone sings!
Mommy helps L blow them out.
And tries to show him that it's OK to touch and taste it. He just stared at it for a while... and then eventually stuck a couple fingers in the icing on top.
It wasn't long before he got it down and was enjoying a little of his first birthday cake!
He was sweet to want to share it with mommy!
A little overzealous about it actually :)
The family. And L, when you're looking at this someday in the future... you will see that your dear big brother thought your celebration was special enough to include a little appearance from his favorite superheros.
The ADORING mommy and daddy who simply couldn't love their 1 year old more!
Enough with the pictures people, I have a cake to eat.
Tasty!
"Do you want some Mr. Photographer?"
"No, that's OK, more for me!"
I'm "sooooooo big" now that I'm one!
Time to open gifts... L did a great job. Be showed him how to tear the paper, but he let his little brother do it himself.
I haven't gotten a picture of it yet, but his absolute favorite gift was a pair of brightly colored tennis shoes from Grandma and Grandpa, no kidding! He's carried them around ever since :)
What a fun celebration.
"See ya, birthday boy out!"
