Precious Benjamin,
You crack me up! I was laughing really hard at lunch today. You were too. Real, guttural, side splitting, nose scrunching, eye squinting laughter! It was great! We just keep looking at each other and making each other laugh even more! Here’s the conversation that started it… out of the blue…
“Mom, MOM! Woof woof, I need to go outside please?” (with a precious head tilt)
You do!?! Why?
"I need go bark at garbage truck. "
You need to go bark at the fire truck, that’s silly!
"No, I yell at garbage truck, Cooper barks."
Oh, I see.
“Woof woof, I need to go outside, right now!”
(Right now has become a favorite phrase of yours lately!)
More laughter later on at dinner came when you, all on your on, tried to get in on the conversation and start a little exchange with this doosey…
“Soooooo….. (with your head tilted to the side and your chin resting on your fist while your elbow supported it in your lap) how you doing mom?”
I'm good, thank you. How are you?
"I good... you happy mom?"
I am happy. You make me happy!
"You make ME happy!"
Thank you!
"Your welcome... your dinner good?"
Yes it is.
"My dinner good too. It's in my BELLY!"
So precious that you showed such concern, such sweetness and such social skills!
Lastly, we were sitting down watching dancing with the stars this evening and you said...
“wait a minute mom, let’s pause it, I need to talk to you about something”
You got up and turned the TV off and came back to the couch, faced me and recounted some of the book we had read earlier during Kindermusik.
“There’s crocodile with trumphet in white snow.”
That’s right Ben, we did read about a crocodile.
“He ride red fire truck.”
That’s right, he did.
“I have boo boo on my foot, on my toe”
You do! What happened?
“I bumped it in the fire. It was hot. I blowed it out.”
Oh my. Are you all better now.
“Yes. But I gobble gobble gobble. Ha ha ha! Like turkey." (as you flapped your arms)
Wow, you do?
"We gobble at school today.”
You learned about turkey’s today at school?
“Yes and at home.”
That’s right, we put turkeys on our calendar.
“Let’s watch big people dance more.”
OK sweetheart. Thanks for sharing.
“Your welcome mom.”
I must have been relaying how funny you were today to your father because on the way to your room for stories and prayers before bed you kept saying, "you crack me up!"
I love to hear what's on your mind and I love to experience your blosoming personality! You are so dear and really just want to engage with those around you. You're so sweet!
love,
Mommy
