Cookie Wiles!

You are too much! Precious, and oh so smart! You actually think you can play me now! And why not, you're pretty darn cute.

You've been doing a great job starting to potty train. When you do a good job you get a sticker. You really like stickers. You also really like cookies. Not just any cookies... you actually don't like most sweets... except for Golden Oreo Cookies!

You ask for one often. If I say no, you consider that maybe that's because I don't know that we have some, or where they are. So you tell me, "We have some mom, they're up there!" As you point to the cabinet where we keep special treats. You know that when you do get to partake, you only get one. So, back to the times that I say "no, not right now sweetheart"... you say "Only one? I just have one."

When I do let you have one, you like to get it yourself out of the jar. You know you only get one, but you always take two because enjoying a cookie is good... but sharing one with someone else is great! So you take one for yourself and one for either daddy or myself.

Today you took one for yourself and one for daddy. (Yea for those precious mornings that daddy gets to go in late to work, although that means he won't be home before your bed time, but it's still nice to have a little extra time with him in the am!) You ran down the hall yelling, "Look Daddy! I have cookies! I have a cookie for YOOOOOOUUUU! You want it daddy?" Well, Daddy's certainly not one to pass up a cookie (wonder where you go that from :)) so he said yes. But he was about to jump into the shower so he asked you to just set it down on the counter for him. INSANE you thought! Especially when you had two perfectly good hands with which to protect it while Daddy finished in the shower. So you stood there, for almost 5 minutes just waiting and guarding his cookie.

Meanwhile, I was out in the kitchen creating a scrambled eggs and cheese masterpiece. I called down to you and here's how our conversation went...

"Benjamin where are you?"
"I down here mommy, I in froggy bathroom!"
"Are you OK?"
"Yea!"
"What are you doing?"
"I holding Daddy's cookie for him."
"Oh, that's nice of you. Can you please come to breakfast now. Daddy will be right behind you."
"OK... dad, DAD!?!"
"Yea buddy, I heard mommy, I'll be right there, just put my cookie on the counter."
"OK"
(you run down the hall to the kitchen)
"MOM! I holding daddy's cookie for him!"
"That's nice. But where is it?"
"It's in my mouth!"
"That's not holding daddy's cookie, that's eatting it sweetheart."
"Hehehehe, I go give it to him."
"No, that's OK, just sit down. It's time for breakfast."
(To your defense, even though you like Golden Oreos they're still sweet so you really never indulge in more then one even if we let you. In fact you usually don't even finish your one entirely. I think the waiting was just too much for you. Or it wasn't intentional at all. You just found yourself there, without much to do, and you happened to be holding a perfectly good cookie. :) )

Daddy soon joined us at the table and told me that you had in fact still left some for him back on the counter in the bathroom. You're so thoughtful, you didn't want to leave daddy without any! So you took the cookie apart. Ate the top. Licked all the remaining incing off the bottom and placed it right on top of his clean clothes. So sweet!
