watch what he watches

I'm actually pretty strict with TV. We have a limit to how much we can watch and rules about what we watch (like most families we know of preschoolers). We're limited to an hour a day... and sometimes we don't even watch that. (Of course there are exceptions: sick days, mommy was pregnant with Liam and very tired days, we're moving and have lots to do days, etc...). But, with all the nursing that our growing little nearly 5 month old needs... and being at Grandma and Grandpa's which is wonderful but means we're off our routine and don't have all our things... we've been watching a little more lately. In snippets when needed. And we still do puzzles and read stories and go to the park, but we've just been watching a little more lately - thank you Noggin. And an occasional movie of course, in which we've branched out to try some new ones. Well, every mom knows that you should always screen new shows and movies WITH your child. So you can turn it off/the channel or at least explain any new-to-your-little-dude(tte) scenarios and sway them in the direction you want them to go... but, although I've gotten a lot of help from Grandma and Grandpa, it's been tougher to be everything for everyone (everyone being both boys :) saying the word "everyone" adds to the drama)... so I might have "horror of all horrors" missed a few parts of a few new shows/movies. Nothing terrible, but still... it's led to the following:

Sneeze Balls
"Mommy, how do you sneeze balls?"
"What? What do you mean honey? Sneezing balls?"
"Yeah, he just told that guy he was sneeze balls, hehehe, are there balls in his nose? Hehehe, go back and see it!"
(At which point I rewound the movie to see, or rather hear, "that guy" call the bad guy a sleazeball... lovely!)
"Hey, let's go ride bikes outside once Liam's done buddy."

The Kiss
"Come here mommy. Hold still mommy. I'm going to kiss you because you are the princess."
"Oh, OK honey, that's sweet." (As I walk over to him thinking how incredibly precious he is!)
Then he puts his adorable little hands on the sides of my face and gives me a kiss. But instead of giving me a quick kiss like he usually does, he keeps holding on to my face and keeps his lips pressed to mine. I start to giggle and he says...
"Don't laugh mom! The princess doesn't laugh."
"Oh, OK, sorry buddy. I'm just not used to you kissing me for such a long time."
"MOM, that's how the prince does it!"

That's How The Cat Did It
"WHAT are you doing to Grandpa? Honey, I know you're wrestling, but you have to be more careful... and a little more gentle, you're going to hurt Grandpa."
"But mom, that's how the cat did it."
"Honey that's just a cartoon. We don't do that. That's why we don't watch Tom and Jerry!"
