The Squadron Christmas Party

Marc and I had a great time at the Squadron Christmas party this evening. One of the activities was a white elephant gift exchange and we were surprisingly excited to get a wooden ship's stearing wheel. Ben, as we've mentioned before, is really into wearing hats and pretend play. He has a great ship's captain hat and we know he'll be thrilled with having a real wheel to play with. I think everyone thought we were really strange :) We sat with two of our best friends from Altus, which was a real treat! And, to top the night off... I actually won the big annual Christmas dessert competition with my Christmas trees smores bundt cake!!! I was so excited! There were some pretty fabulous desserts there, one cake even had a huge fondunt bow crafted on the top! Mine looked pretty simple, but the trees mold of the cool Christmas bundt pan I have is pretty neat and I sprinkled it with powdered sugar to make it look like it had snowed. Which I made up because I was a little intimidated by the recepie suggestion to make a gnosh to drizzle over the cake. Powdered sugar just seemed so much easier! Anyway, I really was just excited to have a reason, and finally the time :), to use the pan for the first time... so winning the competition was just "icing on the cake"!

Here are some pictures, of course!

Since becoming parents, we just don't have as many couple shots as we used to... so we had to take the opportunity to snap a quick photo!

Our fabuous friends Corey and Jill Peterson - we are sooooo blessed and fortunate to have them in our lives!

Our other amazing friends Joel and Jenn Rivard - you're lucky if you have one really great couple in your lives during a particular assignment... we've hit the jackpot here! Now we just have to find a way to make all our future assignments mesh :) Regardless, they're most certainly not getting rid of us... they're way to cool! We're here to stay!

love,

Jaimee
