Let it snow!

We've finally been getting the bigger snows we've been hoping for ever since we got this assignment. Benjamin is overjoyed and so excited to finally have snow to play in at home. And Liam is just as excited. He watches it with such interest and delight, reaching out to touch it and fussing to be put down to crawl around in it. I've been reminded of how much I used to love a newly covered lawn I got to christen with the first set of tracks. Oh we've had a blast! Building things, knocking them down, throwing snowballs or rather cannon balls at passing pirate ships and building a snow jail for a rogue Yettie and his evil robots. :)

I am just loving, more and more every day, being at home with the boys. And by that I don't just mean being a stay at home mom, but also taking the time to just stay at home, physically, all of us... to just hang out in and around our house. And I love how a big snowstorm sort of shuts things down and takes away outside commitments and distractions, which results in more time at home with a wonderfully cleared schedule. That is definitely a new goal, focus, resolution for this year. Whether it's real or imagined, we're going to be having a lot more "snowstorms" that take the Summers family out of commission this year. If you're wondering where we are, we'll be momentarily unavailable... intentionally shut in just enjoying each other and our home.

My snow buddies!
Trying to catch one.
The pleading eyes, increasing flurries and dropping temperatures quickly led to a trip inside to change into his snowsuit too!
It really was snowing this hard, for quite a while... so fun!
We must have caught 50 snowflakes on our tongues!
Definitely enjoys the winter just as much as the summer, so fun!
Liam will willingly lie down in his snowsuit to be zipped up and holds his hands out for his mittens! He doesn't even fight the hat... he just wants to get out there... crawl around in it, smash it, throw it, kick it around!
A creation with friends using the snowman kit we gave them as a Christmas present this year!
Another great snowman, this time with a Lego influence :) Sadly, he defected to the bad guys side and had to be "disassembled" with a small sword only moments later. At least we were able to salvage the sought after crystal that was buried inside his base. (Did you forget how cool pretend play could be? These guys are too much fun! I love it!)
At times, this fort alone was our only defense against the sinister snow pirates.
Now for some hot cocoa!!!
