2 fabulous daughters who married 2 equally fabulous men and created 3 fabulous grandchildren (sure I'm a little biased)!
So many wonderful memories of drive in movies and summer road trip vacations in the station wagon (of course as the little sister my most vivid recollections are fly paper in Jackie's hair, Jackie's terrible headache the day we stopped for crunchy hot dogs in Maine, and Jackie reading her romance novels in the back of the motor home while dad and I sang Willie Nelson and the Judds and mom fixed snacks :)), the cabin in the PA woods, coaching multiple extracurricular activities for your girls, lean-to then tent then pop up then motor home camping, home renovation projects, 6 dogs/2 birds/5 fish/1 cat, and the utmost devotion to family!
We are working through "The Marriage Course" in our small group at Church and tonight's session was on parents and in laws. There was an exercise where we had to rate how we felt our parents did in their relationship with us and then in their relationship with each other (yikes, I hope if Ben ever does this someday we fare well :)). Anywho, I/We vowed to be totally and utterly honest because this was a safe environment, the exercise would really help us understand each other better and improve our marriage, and to be honest... you wouldn't ever have to know your score :)! And you know what... you still scored a perfect 100!!!! The only thing we could even remotely come up with is that we just want to see more of you!!! I hope our children can say the same for us when we're, um, more mature :)
