I'm not a mean mom, really!

Well, sweet cheeks (wow, I haven't used that one since he was tiny :)) really brought the stares today in Walmart! Although, they were all directed at me and not him. He's very dear... and eager to please me... as I've mentioned before. But I've noticed that it's sort of back firing on me :) Ben will often apologize for something in a really eager, almost too eager, way. Often before I can even blink an eye. And sometimes it's for nothing at all. Boy does that get the grandmas staring and sometimes even glaring as I blubber through, "that's alright sweet heart, you didn't do anything, it's OK, Mommy's not upset" (etc...etc...).

And if that wasn't enough, my closest girlfriends here were standing right by us when I had to correct Ben for something recently. It was really minor, but as I was talking to him I said, "honey, what happens when you..." and he replied, in just about the most precious mouse like voice, "then you will SPANK my heinie?" Nice! Especially since I've talked to them a lot about what I think of spanking - and it's usually not very favorable. They all just broke out into a huge chorus of laughter... way to encourage my budding actor girls!

love,
The Mother of the Oscar Nominee

Yes, that whole "then you will spank my heinie" episode was one of my favorite Ben moments ever! HA!

I'm kinda disappointed, because I thought you were going to say that Ben had a meltdown in Walmart when I started reading this post. Not that I WANT him to have a big, bad temper tantrum... okay, someday I sorta do. Is that bad to admit? It would totally make me feel better.

We just love Ben so much. ((((((hugs)))))))
