2008 New Year Resolutions

Number 1 - Don't rush into making any resolutions :)

Now that I have an excuse for getting these out late... here are the rest.

I have to start by saying that I have been known to make like 100 resolutions... crazy I know. But I think I found a way to get it a little more under control this year. I decided to join a book club for 1, just me! I picked out 12 books, 1 for each month of the year, that I want to read and try to draw from while continually trying to improve myself as a Christian, wife, mother, family member, friend and citizen. So, I'm still going to make a few traditional resolutions, however I'm sort of adopting a New Years "Themes" vs just Resolutions take on it this year (thanks to a good suggestion from a loved one).

So, here's my book list:
1. The Excellent Wife
2. The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands
3. Love is a Decision
4. The Hallelujah Diet
5. The Healthiest Kid in the Neighborhood
6. The Parent's Success Guide to Organizing
7. Becoming a Woman Who Pleases God
8. Self Magazine's 15 Minutes to Your Best Self
9. Shepherding a Child's Heart
10. What Every Child Needs
11. The Five Love Languages of Children
12. Your Dream Career

And here are the rest of our resolutions...

Jaimee:
#1 Start a book club for one!
#2 Catch up on my journals and scrapbooks so from here on out I can just do digital books online or better yet just print my blog!
#3 Spend time each week in the following three activities: (1) A couples devotion with Marc, (2) DVD Guitar Lessons for me, (3) A special project with Benjamin
#4 Work out at least 156 times (that's 3 a week in case you're wondering where that random number came from).
#5 Cook at least 52 recipe based meals (as opposed to my basic meat-veggie-bread style of cooking)

Marc:
#1 He's picked out a few books of his own to read... about 6 I think.
#2 The classics... more sleep, more exercise and better nutrition.
#3 Organize and purge the garage.

Benjamin:
#1 Bid farewell to diapers and training pants.
#2 Play and learn and learn and play and LOVE!

So, good luck to us!
love,
MJB

All those books look great...how are you doing so far on book #1? You'll have to let me know if any of them were good so I know what to put on my reading list =)

Good job Ben! We know you all will be successful. Grandpa is still writing his list. I think it includes an exercise hunting trip with your daddy.(Ha,Ha) Love, GMO
