WAIT MOM!

The most often heard phrase around here lately is "WAIT MOM! I have an idea..." which is usually followed by one of two scenarios :)
Either a new rule he has invented (he's really into taking control of situations, bringing more order to our lives and making sure that there are reasons for nearly everything that makes up our day) such as:
"WAIT MOM!... I have an idea...
only legs go under the table at lunch.
Not our heads, only our legs go there."
and
"WAIT MOM!... We only nap...
we don't go night night because the sun is not set...
So I don't put on my jammies and we don't brush my teeth."
Or because he wants to change the tide when a situation is starting to take the wrong direction in his mind such as this little zinger right after having been informed that it was time to go lie down at nap time:
"WAIT MOM!... I need to get you a truck...
so you can watch Quincy and Leo and June and Annie (Little Einsteins)...
on the couch, in the den with me."
or this one during finger painting when I told him we needed to wash our hands before we went to play:
"WAIT MOM! I just have to show Cooper and Chloe the color!"
or this one right after I announced that we needed to wash our hands for dinner:
"WAIT MOM!...
Wait just a minute...
You need to wait because...
while I...
for...
because it's time to feed the fishys."
or this one right before bedtime:
"WAIT MOM!...
You need a cookie?...
Just one cookie? ...
Because you still hungry?...
I go get it for you!"
Too precious! I can already tell I'll have to brace myself for what's yet to come.
