Cowboy on wheels!

Ben's latest and greatest...

1. His hat addiction continues, but now he will search out a mirror so he can check out his reflection and say precious comments like, "Yay, cool!" and "looooooooook at me!"

2. He will tell me all that he doesn't want to do things that he sort of tempted to do but knows he shouldn't... that may not make sense without an example so here is one: "Mom, I DON'T want to poke you with this arrow because I love you and I want to give you a hug"

3. He knows a blow off kind of answer to one of his questions and will keep pressing until you give him something he can wrap his little mind around. For example, don't give him any of that nonsense about how it's dark outside because the sun has gone night night :) He'll hold out for the real, "the earth spins in circles and for about half of the day we face the sun but for the other half we're turned away from it... but when it's night here then it's day time in places such as China... let's go find China on your globe" - "OH, OK mommy, let's go find CHINA!"

4. He's interested in all sorts of things we've never talked about or introduced him too... like roller skates, the book Sam I Am, mermaids !?! Where does he get this stuff from? We don't leave him unattended watching TV or talking to strangers :) It's not only surprising but also something that is taking me a little time to accept as I'm pretty attached to the fact that I get the joy, the pleasure and the comfort of knowing that most everything he knows comes from us!

5. He is still going to sleep like a champ at nap time and bedtime... without any "training" or "arguing", what? It can't be this easy, can it? And am I just tempting the tantrum gods by saying that :)

So, thanks to the great after Christmas sale, my excitement over lots of new play and learning scenarios that will be inspired, left over gift money and my precious big boy doing such a great job going to sleep... we went on a little shopping trip for a cowboy hat and roller skates.
He won't take either of them off except at bath and bed time :) And he's said, "oh thank you mom!" about 100 times! Cute cute cute!

Ben you look like "Granny". She always matched her shoes with her hat. Way to go Cowboy!
