Daddy: He already knew a lot from studying it all through school... doesn't get to practice as much as the rest of us... definitely notices the slang here and will be getting that down better now that he's joined a village men's soccer league
Benjamin: He is doing fantastic! Has been in German kindergarten for almost 6 months now and has moved from knowing none through understanding most and now speaking a lot! I'm so proud of him. I hear him speak it with his friends and he even uses it at home with Liam and I. I'm amazed at how he can help translate for me. He's literally added like 15 phrases in the last week alone. Unbelievable. And his pronunciation... soooo much better than mine :) However, one friend has been trying to teach him some naughty words... geez, that didn't take long. He's good about not repeating them though... so far.
Liam: Will repeat after us a lot, so cute!
Mommy: Is still working on learning German. I have my Pimslers CD program I listen to in the car and am awaiting approval to do Rosetta Stone through the library. But the best practice is with the great German mom friends I've made through Benjamin's kindergarten. Especially my dear friend Dorothe'. She is a huge help. As is trying to communicate with Benjamin's teachers. Although I still have a LONG way to go :) I am trying to practice with Marc every day and use it with Benjamin to help us both. I've discovered that google translate is a good program and carry a little German dictionary with me that has come in very handy. Here's an example of my somewhat humorous attempts... at least I'm trying :)
