Our Village Saint Martin Lantern Walk

And here are the pictures from our Village Saint Martin Lantern Walk... as explained in the previous post.

Benjamin noticed right away that "Saint Martin" was a lady. He was pretty upset about this because he knew from kindergarten that he was supposed to be a man. He wanted to know where the real Saint Martin was. I had to explain that this was another person who's actions we were remembering from long ago and that this was a reenactment. He was a little bummed, but I think he still thought it was pretty cool. Saint Martin led us on our walk.
Along with a band.
Benjamin with the lantern he made at kindergarten.
Marc carrying Liam, Benjamin, his buddy Lukas and Dorothe' (Lukas' mom) with Laura. We walked all through the village neighborhoods.

Our family.
Our dear friends the Kuppers.
The bonfire.
Liam slept warm and comfortable most of the evening snuggled in with daddy.
It was a lot colder this time around... but luckily we had just received a box of extra warm weather gear for the boys from Grandma. We're looking forward to the next holiday, Saint Nicolas' Day December 6th.
