Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Festival and Fairytale Garden Fun

This fun family adventure found us in Ludwigsburg at the Pumpkin Festival in the Fairytale gardens. We carpooled with dear friends the Barnes and the Morales'. It rained on and off most of the day, but it didn't put a damper on our fun.

As with all our trips, we started out with a bakery run for breakfast and road trip snacks.

Here's our expert driver.
And I cover the duties of the passer out and collector of all food/drinks/toys/tissues, navigator, tour guide, entertainer and question answerer. While enjoying the scenery and pretty Fall foliage.

Benjamin plays games with us, sings with us, asks for stories, asks questions, helps entertain Liam and sometimes takes a little snooze or watches a movie.
Liam's adorable feet.
We're finally there... with a little pent up energy to burn off.
The palace and my little prince.

The dads on stroller patrol (Michael and Marc).
Ben spies the first pumpkins down the hill.
They had a big covered hay play place for the kids. Liam didn't know what to think at first... he kept trying to hold his legs up, I don' blame him :)
Benjamin had so much fun, definitely a great idea for children.
Once he got used to it, Liam had a lot of fun too.
My guys posing by the giant from Gulliver's Travels... the theme this year was fairytale characters... Benjamin really enjoyed hearing the stories, Mommy's slightly happier and less scary toned down version.
Benjamin wanted a picture by the dragon, of course.
After checking out all the pumpkins, we set off to see the regularly featured fairytale park. This was so cool! It's Rapunzel's tower and if you call out to her in German, the correct phrase, she will lower her braid. Benjamin was the only one in our group who was successful. He was so proud!
Benjamin's favorite was the Frog Prince's throne that raised up and down inside a ring of fountains.
Mommy and her sweet Liam.
Such a nice family shot... if you imagine a smile on Benjamin's face instead of his ornery expression... and if you imagine Liam a little more awake :)

We had a great time! Happy Fall!
