Paris - Notre Dame

"All Paris was spread out at his feet, with her thousand turrets, her undulating horizon, her river winding under the bridges, her stream of people flowing to and fro in the streets; with the cloud of smoke rising from her many chimneys; with her chain of crested roofs pressing in ever tightening spoils round about Notre Dame."

(Victor Hugo, Notre-Dame de Paris)

This post is all about our Notre Dame visit. What an awesome cathedral... extra cool for everyone... the Disney fans in our family, the readers, the admirers of unbelievable architecture and those who like to give themselves heart attacks climbing stairs carrying their precious children :) Here we are at the beginning of our visit.
Grandma and Grandpa.
So beautiful, the level of detail was amazing.
Wow.
Gorgeous.
There was a little of a line for going up to the bell tower, but it didn't seem nearly as long as it could have been since we had this funny street performer clown to entertain us. He "toyed" with people walking by :) Benjamin thought everything he did was genius of course! I'm just glad he didn't impersonate us.
It's a long way up there...
And this guy did pretty well, for the first 20 steps or so :) Daddy carried him the entire rest of the way.
While I was in charge of the little guy. Here we are, working up an appetite for those delicious French pastries.
This was one of those moments where you can't believe you're actually where you are, so cool. What a view. You can see how impressed Liam is.
Benjamin and Daddy pose with a gargoyle and the Eiffel Tower in the background.
It was a nice day for a visit. Not too hot or cold or breezy or rainy...
And the view, once again, amazing. Here's the Seine River.
The boys at the entrance of the bell tower.
More climbing, yea!
Our little Quasi Motto.
Our family by the bell.
Grandma and Grandpa... it is so much fun and so very helpful traveling with family.
I would blow this up and hang in on the wall, Marc captured some great lighting in this shot.
Feeding the pigeons outside afterwards.
Walking around the side and back to check out the flying buttresses.
I would highly highly recommend this visit to families with children. Not only is the Church beautiful... but the climb, the gargoyles, the bells, the architecture, the pigeons, the street performers and a number of miniature playgrounds around the outside make it so much fun for kids.
Liam loves to watch and Benjamin loves to entertain, they make a good duo!
Paris, wow! It totally lives up to the hype.
