We just finished the Core Knowledge Series Preschool book 1, a 52 week devotional activity Bible and super list of picture books that we both read and based lots of great activities off of. We had a great year! AND we've just begun the Core Knowledge series book 2, a new devotional Bible and are planning on lots more great books. We have a few other fun things we can work on, like some Kumon books and books about developing writing/math/science skills all based in play - which is what we like most of all. He's totally ready to start learning how to read, but I'm not in a big rush yet so we'll maybe explore it after the holidays. Here are some pictures of one of our recent learning times (anywhere from 15-60 minutes a day... with some activities stretching on for much longer or even being repeated over and over again).
Here are our copycat drawings. Mommy was the lead (on the left) for the first one...
and Benjamin was the lead (on the right) for the second one.
We've been reading a great book (by the writers of "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs") called "The Marshmallow Incident"... a super fun silly story that just hit the spot with this aspiring knight and marshmallow lover! Mommy and Daddy liked it too. Here are B and M building with marshmallows and uncooked spaghetti.
